Freezing Cucumbers–An Experiment

7/4/2019 – After watching a video of a guy experimenting with freezing cucumbers and trying them two weeks later, Mary decided to try it with the 15+ large ones we have from the garden. We hope they will be ok for making Tzatziki or salads.

  1. We pealed them leaving a narrow green strip of the pealing for color. Cut off both ends and cut them in half.
  2. Used a spoon to remove the seeds and soft, watery part next to the flesh.
  3. Dried them with paper towels in small batches as they became wet quickly.
  4. Packed the halves in three one-gallon vac pack bags and sealed them with the vac pack machine.
